Purpose: The purpose of Harmony is to provide a safe and pleasant environment where adult consumers of mental health services can interact socially with others who understand their illness and where pre-employment and daily living skills could be acquired or re-learned.

Clubhouse
The Harmony Day Program provides many pre-vocational as well as social opportunities. The day program operates Monday through Friday from 9a.m to 3p.m. It offers members the chance to be productive by taking part in all aspects of the clubhouse which includes pre-vocational skills, socialization, and wellness education groups. All of this takes place within the warm, pleasant environment of the clubhouse. In order to serve their purpose the Harmony clubhouse offers three pre-vocational work units. Each unit performs a specific task essential to the operation of the clubhouse. Pre-vocational activities at the clubhouse include:

  • Health and Wellness
  • Career and Administration

    Outreach
    Transportation to and from the club is provided for most outlying areas. The Harmony Program also facilitates an outreach program which focuses on contracting absent members in order to monitor their well-being.

    Wellness Education
    The Harmony program provides wellness education groups that emphasize stress management and life skills to foster expression and coping skills. The members are also encouraged to volunteer for programs such as "Meals On Wheels" and attend activities in the community to increase socialization. In addition, craft and exercise groups are made available for the Harmony members to broaden their personal abilities and to build self-esteem. All activities, while strictly voluntary, are encouraged by colleagues in order to assist individuals to develop and improve employment related and daily living skills.
