Community Support Services
Community Support Services is our most intensive level of outpatient service. The purpose of Community Support is to help achieve each consumer ‘s community adjustment, which may include teaching community living skills, providing treatment planning, case management tailored to the need of the consumer, crisis intervention to provide timely access to treatment, and coordinated psychiatric and medical treatment.

  • Community Support Services of Washington serves Franklin County

What is Community Support?
Individuals who have special mental health needs frequently seek services designed to help them adjust to community life. Trained community support workers (CSW's) work with these individuals to ensure that appropriate resources are available that promote an individual's community adjustment.

The program includes:

  • Teaching community living skills
  • Advocating for consumers
  • Providing encouragement and support

A critical feature to the program is that services are delivered in various community locations. This approach reflects the individual needs of the consumers being served, and is flexible to permit variation in the amount and nature of services provided. By using a Continuous Treatment team approach, each person is assured of quality treatment care.

Comprehensive Program
Community Support services provides a comprehensive program to help adults in our communities who have serious psychiatric disabilities lead more rewarding and productive lives.

Treatment, vocational, and social needs are addressed by services such as:

  • Evaluation and collaborative treatment planning
  • Case management tailored to the level of service and support needed
  • Crisis intervention to provide support and timely access to treatment
  • Coordinated psychiatric and medical treatment through the agency's clinics and other providers in the community
  • A vocationally oriented clubhouse in which adults actively participate as members and colleagues in the rehabilitation process
  • Supported employment programs for an introduction to work in the community Independent Apartment Living
