MHA of Greater
St. Louis
The Mental Health Association of Greater St. Louis
(MHA) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental, charitable corporation
founded in 1945 for the purpose of giving form and structure to
the growing community concerns for the needs of those with mental
illness. MHA is the only organization in the St. Louis community
concerned with the entire spectrum of mental health and mental illness.
MO-SPAN
The mission of the Missouri Statewide Parent Advisory
Network is to improve the lives of children and youth with severe
emotional disturbance (SED) and their families by supporting and
mobilizing families through training, education, advocacy, and system
change.

NAMI
The National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)
is a nonprofit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organization
of consumers, families, and friends of people with severe mental
illnesses, such as schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder,
obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders.

Mental Health Association
The National Mental Health Association (NMHA) is
the country's oldest and largest nonprofit organization addressing
all aspects of mental health and mental illness. With more than
340 affiliates nationwide. NMHA works to improve the mental health
of all Americans, especially the 54 million individuals with mental
disorders, through advocacy, education, research and service.

of the people and communities they serve. BJC Behavioral Health
Services are community mental health centers. With three locations,
the centers deliver and coordinate a responsive system of customized,
community-based, high-quality care that values customers' desires,

Comtrea is the community Mental Health Center for
Jefferson County, designated by the Jefferson County Commission
and the administrative agent for the Psychiatric Services Division
of the Missouri DMH (Department of Mental Health) for Jefferson
County.

of Comprehensive Psychiatric Services are accessed through 25 administrative
agents, which determine a person's eligibility for services and
provide services for eligible individuals. A listing of the administrative

sexual issues, gambling, anger, abuse, AIDS, health, money, shelter,

Youth in Need, believing in the strength and potential
of every child and family, provides temporary residential shelter
for youth ages 10 through 18, who are experiencing crisis because
of homelessness, running away, or other imminent risk of running
or becoming homeless.

Alcoholics Anonymous is an international fellowship
of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional,
self-supporting, nondenominational, multiracial, apolitical, and
available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements.
Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his
or her drinking problem.
Al Anon/Alateen
Al Anon's purpose is to help families and friends
of alcoholics recover from the effects of living with the problem
drinking of a relative or friend. Similarly, Alateen is our recovery
program for young people. Alateen groups are sponsored by Al-Anon
members.
