Crider Health Center Foundation’s Charity Golf Event to Fund Vital Community Health Programs for Medically Underserved

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

ST. CHARLES, MO - Crider Health Center Foundation’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament, scheduled for August 23, 2010 at Bogey Hills Country Club, will benefit vital community health programs that serve the primary, dental and mental health needs of economically disadvantaged children and adults.

Over the last four years the event has raised more than $75,000 to fund and develop health services for those who have little to no health insurance in the St Charles, Franklin, Lincoln and Warren counties.

“By supporting the tournament our sponsors are helping the growing number of individuals who can not afford to receive the medical attention they need,” said Bill Zywiciel, President of STL Financial and Chairman of the Golf Tournament.  “We are grateful for all the support of our sponsors, volunteers and teams who help make this event a success.”

The 4-person scramble competition style tournament kicks off with lunch and a chance to win a car.  Cost is $125 per person or $500 per team.  Registration includes 18 holes of golf, beverages and alcohol on the course, lunch, dinner and participation in several contests, a live auction and raffle.

Sponsorships are still available. For more information or to register to play or sponsor the tournament please visit www.cridercenter.org or call Steve Martinez at 636-332-8326

Organizations Join Forces to Provide Needy Kids with Health Screenings, School Check-Ups and Backpacks Full of School Supplies

2nd Annual Back to School Health Fair

WENTZVILLE, MO - Crider Health Center, the Salvation Army, Calvary Church West, NECAC, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and other local organizations will again join forces to put on the 2nd Annual Back to School Health Fair Friday, July 23, 2010, 10 am – 1 pm at Calvary Church West to benefit the under resourced families in Lincoln County.

Last year, over 1,000 attended this free event and 500 children received backpacks full of school supplies. Families also received health screenings, school check-ups, lunch, face paintings, and free hair-cuts.

This year’s event features free school check-ups and health screenings by Crider Health Center including dental, vision and lead.  600 backpacks with school supplies will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis to children grades K-12.  Families can also enjoy refreshments, children’s activity booths, a bounce house, a visit from the Rascals Mascot and free hair-cuts.  Health plan information and information on area health services will be distributed to all attendees.

“We understand that many families struggle to provide even the most basic needs, especially around the back to school season,” said Steve Martinez, VP of Development at Crider Health Center. “We are very excited to have gained participation from so many of our community partners to make this event possible a second year.”

To participate in the event or make a charitable contribution call Steve Martinez at 636-332- 8326.
